WANTED: Editor & Graphic Designer
THE OUBLIETTE ZINE
The Oubliette are looking for an EDITOR and a GRAPHIC DESIGNER to start work asap on developing The Oubliette zine - an alternative, once-monthly, no-budget, folded-paper publication focused on:
* Arts features showcasing the work of The Oubliette's contributing artists and emerging artists from around London
* News features relevant to British subculture, autonomous art spaces and the Arts
* Serialised and regular features ie comic strips
* Opinions & Interviews
* Advertising for The Oubliette's events, call-outs and news
Distribution will be in the form of digital copies made available online via our website, partner sites, and sent out to our database (circa 5,000) alongside more inventive and cost-free methods to be discussed once recruitment has been determined.
The roles are unpaid, voluntary, and work-as-you-please. The Oubliette crew will contribute all necessary staffing, practical, and logistical support. This is an excellent opportunity to get involved in an exciting new publication from Britain's first Arthouse project.
Role description - EDITOR
* Manage zine and oversee production
* Source and manage contributors
* Discover innovative, inventive new ways of generating content
* Ensure good editorial standard
Role description - GRAPHIC DESIGNER
* Developing with the Editor a zine with a distinctive look, feel and format
* Creating a style that works well with budget reproduction methods such as photocopier and office printer
* Organising layout, compiling content
* Must have some experience in desktop publishing

Live-In Core
We are looking for spirited, mature and imaginative people willing to contribute some of their time in developing the Arthouse project, as a resident member of The Oubliette.
You will help organise, prepare and staff events, keep the building clean and maintained and supervise studio users.
Good DIY skills and attitude is important. Basic squatter rights knowledge beneficial but not a prerequisite. We are not looking for people who don't like getting their hands dirty.
The rewards are great. Live-in volunteers enjoy free rent in central London whilst all our contributors can enjoy being part of the hub of an exciting new arts movement and a thriving, dynamic community.
